What You'll Do
- Process all required customs documentation for international shipments, including entry release, TIBs, ACE Manifests, Bonds, ISFs, AES, and more
- Ensure all shipments meet customs regulations and legal obligations
- Maintain organized filing systems for shipping documents
- Schedule and prepare shipments to meet client timelines
- Run reports and provide updates on shipment status
- Communicate effectively with carriers, clients, and customs authorities to resolve issues
- Process payments for ACH statements and handle credits or re-bills as needed
- Classify goods according to the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
- Set up new accounts and onboard clients
- Mentor and train junior employees on customs processes
- Conduct quality audits of shipped goods to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Problem-solve missing documentation, delayed shipments, and related issues
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace in accordance with policies and safety regulations
What You'll Bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Previous experience in customs brokerage or the logistics industry preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and timelines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks and challenges
